Pholeo

Accessibility

Pholeo's website is built to WCAG 2.2 level AA. What that covers, what we check, what is still being improved, and how to tell us about a barrier.

Pholeo Inc. wants everyone who plans events to be able to use this website, including people who rely on a screen reader, keyboard, magnification or reduced motion. This statement covers www.pholeo.io. The Pholeo application at app.pholeo.io and the Pholeo Onsite mobile app are separate products with their own accessibility work, and we are happy to answer questions about them at the address below.

The standard we hold the site to

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard most accessibility laws refer to, including the Americans with Disabilities Act as it is applied to websites.

In practice that means:

  • Text and interface colours meet the contrast ratios the guidelines require: at least 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and controls.
  • Nothing on the site is rendered below 11 pixels, and the pages reflow at 200% zoom and on narrow screens without horizontal scrolling.
  • Every informative image has a text description. Purely decorative art is hidden from assistive technology so it does not get in the way.
  • Pages have one main heading, headings in order, real lists and named landmarks, so a screen reader can move through them by structure.
  • Everything can be reached and operated with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing the Tab key reaches on every page, the current focus is always visible, and menus close with the Escape key.
  • Animation respects the "reduce motion" setting on your device. Moving strips pause when you hover over them or move keyboard focus to them, and the opening sequence on the home page can be skipped or will not play at all with reduced motion on.
  • The short product videos are silent by design and each carries a written description, so there is nothing in them that captions would convey.
  • Form fields have visible labels and work with browser autofill.

How we check

We test every page of the site with an automated accessibility engine (axe-core) against the WCAG 2.2 A and AA rules, and review by hand the things automation cannot judge, such as text over images and the usefulness of descriptions. The last full check was on 21 October 2026 and found no failures. We run it again whenever the site's templates or colours change.

What we know is not perfect

  • Some older blog posts carry images whose descriptions were generated from the image's file name rather than written by a person. We are replacing these with written descriptions as we work through the archive.
  • A few pages embed YouTube videos. The video player is YouTube's own and its accessibility is theirs; where a video has a transcript or write-up, the page links to it.
  • Third-party content we link to, such as our customers' and partners' websites, is outside our control.

Tell us about a barrier

If anything on this site is hard to use, or you need information from it in another format, email cx@pholeo.io with the page address and what went wrong. A person reads that inbox, and we aim to reply within two business days and to fix a confirmed barrier in the next release of the site.
