Gregory and Rocio grew up together in Rockford, Illinois, moved to Chicago for college, and built careers across events, hospitality and operations.
The spark came in 2023, when Gregory managed a 2,500-person conference on a patchwork of disconnected tools and sketched a single platform to hold specs, budgets, timelines and production.
Rocio’s experience setting standards across hundreds of events a year shaped the product’s practical, on-the-ground design. Together they took a working prototype to a launch-ready product in months.
Pholeo launched in June 2024 and was immediately put through three back-to-back events of 16,000-plus attendees that August and September. The platform has been in production ever since.
